Issue resolution of cocoa beans deficit may be solved in 2025
Let's start the new working week positively – there is hope for a solution to the shortage of cocoa beans: commodity broker Marex Group expects cocoa production to exceed supply by more than 300 thousand tons in the upcoming 2024-2025 season, which will begin in October, Bloomberg news agency reports.
Weather conditions have improved in West Africa – this is the main reason to assume an upcoming increase in cocoa bean production.
According to the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO), in the 2021/2022 season, the cocoa deficit reached 216,000 tons, in the 2022/2023 season – 74,000 tons, but in 2023/2024 this amount may become a record, reaching 439,000 tons.
Do you agree with commodity brokers about solving the current problem of chocolate production? 🤔
