About candies and their history
Inspired by the World Candy Day, we have prepared for you an interesting post about sweets that have left an indelible mark in the history of different countries and in the memories of many people. Some of them are still very much loved by local (and not only) residents. What kind of sweets are we talking about?
Chocolate truffle is a delicacy loved by many sweet tooths around the world. It is believed that this exquisite candy was created by a Frenchman. We will not enter into disputes whether it was Auguste Escoffier, Louis Dufour or other masters of the confectionery art, but only admit that truffles are still considered one of the most delicious sweets in the whole world.
Toblerone is the star of the TV series "Friends" and Switzerland (the birthplace of the famous dessert), which organically combines milk chocolate, nougat, honey and almonds. The unconventionality of this sweetness is not only in its interesting composition, but also in the unusual triangular shape of the product.
Dragon's beard candy or Chinese cotton candy is a traditional handmade delicacy that is also popular in East Asian countries. In addition to the interesting history and taste of cotton candy, the product also has a low sugar and fat content.
Botan Rice Candy is a candy originally from Japan, which is also popular in North America (we wonder why?) The name of the delicacy comes from the Japanese bontan ame – these are soft, chewy citrus-flavored candies wrapped in rice paper.
Turkish delight – one of the most famous oriental sweets needs no introduction. Surely, many will recognize the appearance and taste of these candies out of thousands.
And of course, Rakoviye Sheiki candies are inexpensive and specific caramels that have been produced (according to some sources) for more than a century. An avid participant of New Year's gifts for children – these candies are surely remembered by all residents of Russia.
And this is not the whole list of traditional sweets of the world, which have become popular not only in their homeland, they are exported to other countries. We will discuss the export of confectionery products at the business forum Confex. Confectionery expertise in March 2024, do not miss the announcements!
And what foreign candies, successful in terms of exports, come to your mind?
