In April 2025, Turkey exported a record volume of chocolate and chocolate products to Russia, reaching $5.6 million. This figure is nearly three times higher than during the same period in 2024, according to data from the Turkish statistical service. The monthly export volume is the highest ever recorded in the trading history between the two countries. Compared to March 2025, chocolate exports grew by 9%.
Since the beginning of the year, Turkey has shipped $19.4 million worth of chocolate to Russia. The majority of April’s imports consisted of filled and unfilled chocolate candies, amounting to nearly $4 million. Additionally, Russia purchased $1.1 million worth of plain chocolate, $502,000 worth of filled chocolate, and other chocolate products for $8,000.
An impressive growth was also noted in the export of cocoa products. Exports of unsweetened cocoa powder reached $371,000 in April—the highest figure since June 2024. In annual terms, the supply grew by 3.6 times. Meanwhile, cocoa butter exports also rose to $312,000, the highest since July 2024, though this is 2.6 times lower than the same period last year.
