📈 Russia increases imports of Chinese chocolate

In May 2025, Russia’s imports of chocolate from China surged more than threefold compared to April, reaching $2.5 million (about 196 million rubles). This significant growth has placed Russia among the top five importers of Chinese chocolate products.

For comparison, in April, Russia imported just $770,000 worth of chocolate from China—three times less than in March.

This upward trend in confectionery sales reflects a global pattern. At the Confex business forum, Alexander Yakuba, Adviser to the Head of the Federal Agroexport Center, presented worldwide sales statistics for confectionery products by category. In 2020, global confectionery chocolate sales totaled $111.2 billion. By 2024, the figure rose to $141.6 billion, and sales are forecast to reach $182.3 billion by 2029.
